Beloved is a four-week series through 1 John. It's a short letter, and the Apostle keeps turning the same three things over in his hands: light, love, and life.
This week he stops describing love and defines it. Not with an adjective. He points at an event, and at a hill outside Jerusalem. Love has a shape, and the shape is a cross.
